FAQ

What is managed IT, and how is it different from calling someone when something breaks?

Managed IT means we proactively handle your technology on an ongoing basis — monitoring, maintenance, security, and support — instead of just reacting after something goes wrong. The old “break-fix” model means you only hear from your IT company when you’re already down and losing money. With managed IT, we’re watching your systems around the clock and heading off problems before they ever interrupt your day. You get predictable support, predictable cost, and a lot fewer fires.

What does Lightspeed actually do for my business?

We act as your complete IT department. That includes help desk support for your team, 24/7 monitoring of your systems, cybersecurity protection, data backup and disaster recovery, Microsoft 365 management, network management, and handling your technology vendors so you don’t have to. If it plugs in or connects to the internet, it’s our job to keep it running and secure — so you can focus on running your business.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based in Green Bay and serve businesses throughout Northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay, and the surrounding communities. Being local matters — when you need someone on-site, we’re close enough to actually show up.

What makes Lightspeed different from other IT companies?

The biggest difference is that we’re a local team that actually knows your business — not a faceless help desk three time zones away. When you call, you reach a real person who already knows your setup, your network, and your history with us. No phone trees, no rotating strangers, no explaining your environment from scratch every time. We treat your technology like it’s our own, and we’re close enough to be there in person when it counts.

How quickly do you respond when there’s a problem?

Fast — it’s literally in our name. When something’s wrong, you reach a real person who knows your setup and we get on it right away, rather than dropping you into a ticket queue and hoping someone gets to it. For managed clients, much of what could go wrong is caught and handled before you even notice, because we’re monitoring your systems in the background.

Do I have to be a big company to work with you?

Not at all. We work with small and mid-sized businesses across Northeast Wisconsin — the kind of organizations that need their technology to just work but don’t have the budget or desire to hire a full in-house IT staff. Managed IT gives you everything an in-house department would, without the cost and headache of building one yourself.

What kind of cybersecurity do you provide?

We protect your business with layered, always-on security — including monitoring, threat detection, email security, and the kind of proactive protection that keeps small problems from becoming breaches. The threat landscape never sits still, and neither do we. Security isn’t a one-time setup; it’s something we manage continuously as part of keeping your business safe.

What happens to my data if something goes wrong — a crash, ransomware, or a natural disaster?

We handle data backup and disaster recovery as part of managed IT, so your business can recover quickly from hardware failure, cyberattacks, or anything else that threatens your data. The goal is simple: if the worst happens, you’re back up and running with minimal downtime, instead of losing days of work or files you can’t get back.

Can you help with one-time projects, or only ongoing support?

Both. Beyond ongoing managed IT, we take on individual projects — network upgrades, office moves, cloud migrations, server replacements, and other bigger jobs. Whether you’re a managed client or just need expert help for a one-time project, we can scope it right and deliver it on time.

Do you work with Microsoft 365?

Yes — Microsoft 365 management is one of our core services. We handle setup, user management, security, email, and the day-to-day administration so your team gets the most out of it without the headaches. If you’re already on Microsoft 365 or thinking about moving to it, we can make sure it’s set up and running the way it should be.

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to schedule a quick, no-pressure call. We’ll learn about your business, talk through where you need help, and give it to you straight — no jargon, no hard sell. Call us at (920) 600-9208 or fill out the contact form, and we’ll set up a time to talk.
